- First released in stainless steel in 2014 and recognised as the Nautilus Travel Time Chronograph, the Patek Philippe reference 5990 competes with the perpetual calendar reference 5740 for the sceptre of “most complicated” Nautilus, featuring a chronograph and travel/dual time complication - with dedicated night/day indications for “home” and “local” time. A testament to Patek Philippe’s excellence in design and technical flair: the fact that two complications requiring external pushers were chosen to be fitted into a Nautilus case - which due to its specific shape is very difficult to modify - is more than surprising.
- Boasting a plethora of complications, the timepiece is powered by the caliber CH 28-520 C FUS, it ingeniously integrates the dual-time functionality of the Aquanaut Travel Time reference 5164/A (now discontinued) with an automatic flyback chronograph.
- The rose gold model was officially released in 2021, and was without a doubt one of the most sought-after and virtually impossible to acquire releases of that year.
- The present Patek Philippe reference 5990/1R is further preserved in excellent condition.
