Taking inspiration from the brand’s famous 10-day tourbillon reference 5101, the ref. 5124 debuted in 2008 as part of the Patek Philippe’s Gondolo collection with an iconic elongated sculpted stepped case. Designed with an arched case, the timepiece sits extremely well on the wrist. Produced in yellow and white gold, the model was fitted with a choice of opaline, sunburst blue and salmon dial like the present example.
A superbly versatile watch, the present reference 5124G with a warm salmon dial features wonderful black elements such as the feuille hands and applied Breguet numerals similar to the split seconds chronograph ref. 5950A. Beating within is the manufacture caliber 25-21, its rectangular shape perfectly fitting the case and stamped with the Geneva seal for its excellence.
Quickly discontinued, this reference is not only a rare example, but also an unworn time capsule from 2008 that remains in its single-sealed condition. An understated piece that certainly deserves more attention, this example is fresh-to-the-market and is complete with its accessories.
