Good to know:
- Rare, limited edition watch with only 166 pieces made
- Beautiful linear baguette movement presented upfront
- Classic 18K pink gold tonneau-shaped case
- Full set
In the norm of horology, the movement is seldom primary to the artistry of a watch. Believing the movement was as important as the outer appearance of a watch and determined to present a design that emphasizes the aesthetics of the movement, watchmaker Vincent Calabrese collaborated with Corum and developed a linear baguette movement. After three years of development, at the Basel Fair in 1980, Corum finally released the first Golden Bridge watch. Since then, the Golden Bridge has been a signature of the La Chaux-de-Fonds watchmaking manufacturer.
The present watch is numbered 14 of a limited edition of 166 pieces. Unlike most Golden Bridge models, this watch features a black dial with pointed baton, more-like triangular markers instead of being an openwork watch. The baguette movement, partially decorated with 18K gold, stands beautifully at the front, with both sides of the bridges decorated with engravings. The crown is located at the 6 o’clock position which allows the symmetrical beauty of the design to be preserved. This watch is a stunning example with unconventional display yet maintains the classy look suitable for multiple occasions.
