The Octa collection was first launched in 2001, making it one of the very first serially produced models. However, after enjoying a much appreciated response from enthusiasts and collectors, Francois Paul Journe decided to enhance the functionality of the Octa by introducing a self-winding caliber 1300.3. Featured in the case is an immediately noticeable 22K gold rotor generating momentum to power the caliber. The in-house movement is with no doubt the most competitive advantage that the manufacture holds. The precise engineering and delicate craftsmanship required to execute the standard of F.P. Journe is most definitely admired by even the most discerned individuals in the industry.
The Octa Auto was first introduced in 2007 with various complications featured in the family, such as the Octa Luna featuring a moonphase on the dial and the present example Octa Auto featuring a power reserve indicator on a clean white multi-textured dial. The production of the Octa Auto was discontinued in 2018. The present example is complete with the original certificate of authenticity and the fitted presentation box.

F.P. Journe
Swiss | 1999Founded by watchmaker François-Paul Journe in 1999, the F.P. Journe brand is relatively young, but already is as highly regarded by collectors as many distinguished manufacturers with centuries-old heritage. In the minds of the world's savviest collectors, Journe is producing some of the finest wristwatches the market has ever seen. Mastering his craft from restoring historical timepieces, he was the first to create a wristwatch incorporating two escapements that benefit from the phenomenon of resonance — the Chronomètre à Résonance.
Key models include the Résonance, tourbillon wristwatches incorporating a remontoir and the limited edition Vagabondage series. Especially sought-after are his earliest "souscription" watches, made in 1999.
