Since the early 19th century, Vacheron Constantin has had a long and prestigious history producing fine repeating timepieces and at the turn of the 20th century, they began to create exceptional complicated wristwatches. Their first repeating pocket watch dates to 1810, and by 1940 the brand released an ultrathin minute repeating movement, the caliber 4261. In 1992, Vacheron Constantin released a new ultrathin repeating movement, the caliber 1755 like the present watch. At only 3.28mm in height, this movement was perfect for their Patrimony Collection, which is a reflection of their past reinterpreted for a contemporary 21st-century look. By adding a perpetual calendar module to the caliber 1755, Vacheron Contantin achieved an elegant modern complicated wristwatch like the reference 30020.

The Patrimony Collection features clean lines reminiscent of the 1950s and with the addition of the tear-dropped lugs the watches have a timeless elegance, which is a reflection on the golden age horology. The present minute repeating perpetual calendar timepiece has a stark minimalism that is only interrupted by the minute repeating slide in the band with a two-tone dial that is clean and easy to read. The minute repeater is one of the most delightful complication found on a timepiece, with activation it chimes the time of day and when combined with a perpetual calendar a true masterpiece is born. Known for their precision and reliability, Vacheron Constatnin has created in the reference 30020 a modern classic that remains true to the brands focus on traditional watchmaking in the 21st century. The world's oldest watch brand in continuous operation since its founding in 1755, Vacheron Constantin was the first watch company to manufacture movements with interchangeable parts beginning in 1839. Vacheron's watches are admired for their Latin-influenced case designs, well-balanced proportions and exquisitely finished movements of the highest quality. The Geneva-based manufacturer is known for their highly complicated masterpieces, including the King Farouk Grand Complication made in 1935, the Tour de l'Ile that was the most complicated serially produced wristwatch when introduced in 2005 and the 57260 — the world’s most complicated watch — made in 2015.



Key vintage models include minute repeating wristwatches such as the references 4261, chronographs such as the references 4178 and 6087 and the oversized Cioccolotone models such as ref. 4737. Collectors also appreciate Vacheron's Chronometer Royal pocket and wristwatches, as well as the '222,' the brand's first luxury sports watch produced from 1977 through 1984.
