"The rock concerts started with watercolors I did ... a few years back. At the time, I was making watercolors in the dark, with a spotlight above my desktop so I would have a pool of light just big enough to light the paper, and I would wear earphones and get a little buzzed to help be the ball. Music was very important to me then – it was all the company I had – so I decided to make a picture of the band playing the music I was listening to: to close the loop, so to speak."
