“Demelza Hospice Care for Children cares for 750 babies, children and teenagers with terminal conditions across south east London, Kent and East Sussex. We are there for the family’s whole journey, from diagnosis to end of life and bereavement services. Demelza is expert in our field providing clinical care, emotional support, practical advice and professional connections that can make a family who is struggling to cope, feel like life is worth living.

Whether it is in the child’s home or at one of our specialist spaces in Kent or south east London, we provide unrivalled care, services and facilities. When a child dies, our bereavement services support the whole family at this difficult time and beyond.

Demelza is an inspirational charity and what we do is only possible due the kindness and generosity of our supporters who fund the salaries of our highly skilled care team and also pay for cost saving projects like our recent conversion at Demelza Sittingbourne to solar energy. With this level of support, we have come through the pandemic and working together with new philanthropists we aim to take Demelza into the most advanced era of children’s hospice care, making sure we are there for all our families, and those still to come.”

Damien Hirst

There is no other contemporary artist as maverick to the art market as Damien Hirst. Foremost among the Young British Artists (YBAs), a group of provocative artists who graduated from Goldsmiths, University of London in the late 1980s, Hirst ascended to stardom by making objects that shocked and appalled, and that possessed conceptual depth in both profound and prankish ways.
Regarded as Britain's most notorious living artist, Hirst has studded human skulls in diamonds and submerged sharks, sheep and other dead animals in custom vitrines of formaldehyde. In tandem with Cheyenne Westphal, now Chairman of Phillips, Hirst controversially staged an entire exhibition directly for auction with 2008's "Beautiful Inside My Head Forever," which collectively totalled £111 million ($198 million).
Hirst remains genre-defying and creates everything from sculpture, prints, works on paper and paintings to installation and objects. Another of his most celebrated series, the 'Pill Cabinets' present rows of intricate pills, cast individually in metal, plaster and resin, in sterilized glass and steel containers; Phillips New York showed the largest of these pieces ever exhibited in the United States, The Void, 2000, in May 2017.
