    - As the first watch worn on the moon, the Omega Speedmaster laid claim to an immortal place in history. This ref. 311.30.42.30.01.005 was in production since 1997, when non-radioactive luminova replaced tritium. Recently discontinued in 2021, it remains truest to its legend as the original “Moonwatch.”

    - Enrobed in stainless steel with a black dial, it echoes precisely the tool timers handed to pioneering astronauts. At 42mm, proportions support legibility whilst honoring mid-20th century dimensions. Applied indices and dauphine hands trace their lineage to the 1960s, as does the iconic tachymetric scale ring.

    - Beating at the core is the essential cal. 1861 manual-wind movement, direct descendant of the chronograph that traveled 240,000 miles to the lunar surface. Its archival design and craftsmanship celebrate watchmaking dedicated solely to function. Over 50 years after mankind first set foot on the moon, this Legendary Speedmaster remains perfectly suited to exploring new frontiers.

    - This present example is in excellent overall condition, and comes complete with its special Moonwatch presentation box, containing a NATO strap, Velcro astronaut strap, bracelet sizing tool, and informative book on the Speedmaster's remarkable history with NASA and in space exploration. For collectors and watch enthusiasts, the Speedmaster Professional The Legendary Moonwatch stands alone for its provenance and achievement, an indelible part of watchmaking history and a tangible link to mankind's endless pursuit of exploration and adventure.

    Omega

    Swiss • 1848

Omega's rich history begins with its founder, Louis Brandt, who established the firm in 1848 in La Chaux de Fonds. In 1903, the company changed its name to Omega, becoming the only watch brand in history to have been named after one its own movements. A full-fledged manufacturer of highly accurate, affordable and reliable watches, its sterling reputation enabled them to be chosen as the first watch company to time the Olympic Games beginning in 1932. Its continued focus on precision and reliability ultimately led their Speedmaster chronograph wristwatch to be chosen by NASA in 1965 — the first watch worn on the moon.

Key models sought-after by collectors include their first, oversized water-resistant chronograph — the reference 2077, early Speedmaster models such as the CK 2915 and 2998, military-issued versions of the Seamaster and oversized chronometer models such as those fitted with their prestigious caliber 30T2Rg.
