Accompanied by Patek Philippe Certificate of Origin confirming the watch configuration (4 painted baton numerals, yellow gold bracelet) code-dated October 1969 (APRS), numbered envelope addressed to "Prof. J.B. Gibson" from "Mr. & Mrs. Shang, Ray-Ziang, numbered sale tag and presentations box. Furthermore accompanied by Patek Philippe Extract form the Archives confirming production for the present watch in 1969 and its subsequent sale on October 23, 1969.
Read Conditions of Sale
- in production form the mid 1960s, ref. 3491 shows remarkable diversity. It can be found with leather strap, with detachable bracelet, or the present integrated bracelet ( -3 version). The dial as well features different variation: Silvered or doré, with roman or Arabic numerals, or even with an incredibly attractive frosted finish - exemplified buy the present watch.

- The bracelet was made by Jean-Pierre Ecoffey, universally considered one of the most influential bracelet makers of the twentieth century.

- The watch is in superb condition and offered complete not only of its original box and Certificate, but even the numbered sale tag and numbered Certificate envelope.

- The engraving to the back is confirmed by the envelope, which is addressed "To Prof. J.B. Gibson from Mr. & Mrs. Shang, Ray-Ziang". This leads us to believe the watch intended recipient was most likely Prof. James Blackburn Gibson. A towering figure within the realm of Hong Kong University history, Prof. Gibson held the Chair of Pathology at HKU from 1963 to 1983. He was also Dean of Medicine from 1972 to 1978.
