An interesting period in their history began following World War II when they established their Electronics Division in 1948. The present reference 503 from 1968 features the state of the art caliber 17-250QP photo-electric cell with quartz battery. The solar panel in the top collects artificial and sun light, which is transmitted to the battery and this energy is power the caliber 17-250É watch movement. It is interesting to note this caliber watch movement differs from the caliber 17-250 found on other models. The 17-250É movement is gilt, opposed to nickel-finished, and the gear train is larger as well separated and housed adjacent to the main plate.
This large rectangular perpetual calendar table clock is a wonderful example of Patek Philippe’s technology and design from the 1960s. The clock is in excellent condition with crisp case and clean dial and one of eleven known examples on the market and the third with Tiffany signature.
