  • Catalogue Essay

Minute repeating watches has long been an admirable asset to horology since its innovation in the 18th century. Since then, Patek Philippe has developed their honorable reputation as one of the masters of the highly complicated mechanism. Combining elegance and haute horology, the minute repeater is activated by a slider generating a harmonious tone which is chimed out by two hammers striking against a gong to depict the time.

The present yellow gold minute repeating pocket watch by Patek Philippe featuring a desirable white enamel dial with painted Breguet numerals is a perfect example of the quality craftsmanship of the famed manufacturer. Generating a loud and high pitched chime, it is powered by the cal. 19”’, Victorin Piguet & Cie ebauche, rhodium plated movement with a straight line lever escapement.
