  • Catalogue Essay

Among the most iconic themes of the Fornasetti production, the "Soli e Lune" decoration appears for the first time in the homonymous series of plates around the mid-1950s. The interest in the anthropomorphic iconography of the sun, coming from astrology, can be traced already in the illustrations and scarves of the 1940s. The "Suns and Moons" theme remains one of the best known, still used today in contemporary production.
