Released at Baselworld 2016, the present Rolex Daytona reference 116508 was the first Daytona model in yellow gold to showcase the firm’s signature emerald green colour on its dial. Launched together with its white gold counterpart with a blue dial, collectors have grown to admire the flamboyant example in yellow gold.
The “vert foncé” dial ranges from a captivating apple green to a deep forest green, under different lighting conditions. Visually striking, it matches and compliments perfectly with its yellow gold case. Founded in 1905 England by Hans Wilsdorf and Alfred Davis as Wilsdorf & Davis, it soon became known as the Rolex Watch Company in 1915, moving its headquarters to Geneva in 1919.
