  • Catalogue Essay

‘Difficult times breed a lot of myths and expectations, create a flow of promises – the most beautiful things we have in our lives. Social reality is conventional. It is composed of treaties between states, communities, individuals, vows to other people, to ourselves and to God. Minin talks about promise as a driving force, a motivator encouraging action which can turn into a manipulation mechanism, a powerful lever of societal control. Carpet of Promises is the story of communication between people and government, interpersonal relationships and relations between human and God.’ (Interview with Natalia Matsenko, 2017).
