Catalogue Essay
‘It was interesting to see how subjects respond to a photographer’s camera. In this case, when I photographed Justin Bieber in Los Angeles, I set up a more formal digital set and quickly saw that he wasn’t responding. I decided to corner off a small area (4x4) and shot him with a Polaroid camera in a private space. He loved the magical process of making instant Polaroids.’
