Muir, Tim Walker: Story Teller, cover

  • Catalogue Essay

Tim Walker reimagines a classic nursery rhyme here, presenting us with a glamorous predatory creature within a meticulously staged fantastical land. This spellbinding photograph, which graced the cover of 2012 publication Tim Walker: Story Teller, of Karlie Kloss emerging in black Gaultier couture behind an enormous, broken Humpty Dumpty epitomises Walker’s playful aesthetic. Having worked as a full-time assistant to Richard Avedon, Walker shot his first fashion story for Vogue at the age of 25. He received an Infinity Award from the International Center of Photography in 2009 and an Honorary Fellowship from the Royal Photographic Society in 2012. London’s Victoria and Albert Museum recently held a major retrospective (2019-2020), Tim Walker: Wonderful Things, which is touring institutions around the world until 2022.
