- In 2017, IWC updated their Portugueser chronograph line with 3 new models: two stainless steel watches - one with silvered and one with blue dial - and as the top of the line the present pink gold variation.
- Compared to its predecessor, the most notable differences are the absence of the fifth-of-a-second divisions in the railway track, and the presence of a convex crystal.
- The model shows massive wrist presence thanks to its generous 42mm diameter, and features a very symmetrical design: the date is balanced by the IWC signature, the running seconds by the chronographic subsidiary dial. A lovely detail is the fact that the chronograph can keep track of intervals up to 12 hours, as the subsidiary dial at 12 o'clock combines 60-minute and 12-hour counters.
