Good To Know:
- GMT via spherical hand and date
- This is the model that was chosen to be reworked for the Louis Vuitton X De Bethune 2026 partnership
De Bethune is a brand that consistently pushes the boundaries of design and mechanics, and the DB25 Stary Varius is a perfect example.
The watch is an easy-to-use and superbly crafted GMT, with a dial featuring, at the top part, a guilloché pattern representing a sunny sky, and a lower part in blued titanium with inlaid gold specks representing the night sky.
A date ring is placed in the center, but the main star of the show is the spherical GMT hand that rotates over 24 hours. In the shape of the brand’s 3-dimensional moonphase, the GMT sphere rotates around itself, going from gold to dark blue, indicating whether the second time zone is AM or PM.
Beating inside is De Bethune’s in-house caliber 2507, featuring signature elements such as the titanium balance wheel with white gold inserts, a self-regulating twin-barrel, a flat terminal-curve balance spring, the triple Pare-Chute shock-absorbing system, and a power reserve of up to six days on a full wind.
The importance of this model is further highlighted by the fact that it was chosen to be reworked in a different case for the Louis Vuitton × De Bethune partnership announced in February 2026.
